It's a Boy!

Molly and I went for our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and the baby is doing great.  We had decided to find out the sex of the baby and it is going to be a boy.  Here are some pictures of the little guy with some labels:

We Have a Heartbeat

Well, we have a heartbeat. We had our first ultrasound and we were able to listen to the baby's heartbeat. This was quite interesting since the baby's heart rate is about 150 bpm which we were re-assured was normal. We also found out that there is ONLY one baby in there. Given that Molly and I have twins in both our families, this was definitely a possibility. It is fair to say that we would have been more than happy with twins but we are also relieved that we are only having one. Here is a picture of the baby from the ultrasound. The crown-to-rump measurement was 7cm(2.7in.) which is in agreement with the November 9th/10th due date. For perspective, the baby is about the size of a peach now.

Molly and I are happy to begin this blog in an attempt to share our journey to, and through, parenthood with those closest to us.
