Happy little guy in bouncy seat

I'm sorry I haven't blogged forever. I've settled for doing it at work (when I need a break from the stress). Cam was still a big fan of the paci when this picture was taken in January. Now he's much more interested in getting a fist or a thumb in his mouth. It's still isn't obvious if he'll take after daddy to be a lefty-- or mommy and be a righty. Nana Neesie thinks he will be a southpaw.

6 Week Update

Hey everyone, just wanted to post again to keep those interested updated on Cameron and to post some pictures too.  Cameron has topped the 9lb mark already and seems to be growing fast every day.  He had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and along with his parents, welcomed the grandparents and great grandparents to the estate on Raven Hills Road for Thanksgiving Dinner (I will put up a post on that later).  For now, here are a few pictures of him and his daddy watching football.  Got to start early huh.
Watching the Buckeyes beat Michigan for yet another year.  this was at halftime of that game and you can say he had the right idea.
Watching the Bengals throw another one away late....with good company at least (picture by Mom)

Take care all.

Welcome Cameron Andrew

I know, I know.  It has been almost two weeks now that we have had this wonderful boy in our lives and I am now just getting around to updating the blog with the announcement. Anyway, here it is:

On October 26th at 4:29pm Molly and I welcomed Cameron Andrew into our family.  He weighed 6lbs 9ozs and was 19" long.  The labor was a long and difficult one but everything worked out in the end and mom is doing well.
Cameron did spend 36 hours in the NICU (left) to correct his over-active insulin production and has been eating and gaining weight beautifully since.  He did manage to get in some Wii bowling while he was there too:)

He has had a few doctors visits already and has been exceeding his goal weights.  He has been sleeping well and allowing Molly and I some rest, but still does not care to have his diaper wet or changed so that creates some loud moments every few hours.

Molly and I would like to thank all that shared their joy and love over the past few weeks and would especially like to thanks Nana Neesie for her help and support in the past two weeks while we came to grips with our new schedule.  We are looking forward to having everyone out for the coming holidays and wish everyone the best.

Sincerely,
Tom and Molly Walters

Here are a few more pictures too:

Ultrasound at 32 Weeks

Our little boy is growing really fast. He weighs approximately 4 lbs 10 oz, which is in the 75th percentile. If you're paying attention, that should be a surprise because he was in the 61st percentile 3.5 weeks ago.
My gestational diabetes is mostly under control, so that's good news.
The amniotic fluid level was a little too high-- I just thought it was because he's a little big, he just needs more room to swim-- but I'm not a doctor. The next ultrasound is 1 October. After that, I'll have weekly ultrasounds and non-stress tests up until delivery because of this amniotic fluid issue.
There weren't good ultrasound pictures to take home today; we have a couple pictures of a blurry profile. If you really want to see them, let us know.

Painting the nursery

We have started to paint! We decided to paint two walls smoky blue, two walls light yellow, and the ceiling light blue. All three can be seen in the picture where Tom is on the ladder. Tom wrote "Tom" and "Molly" on one of the yellow walls before painting over it. We kind of have a tradition of painting weird things on the walls before a first coat goes on. Maeby, our lazy cat can be seen in the picture, too. The other picture is of "the mama" looking tired and chubby while taping, along with the uncertain dog, Carson. Regarding the size of my belly (with ten weeks still to go!) I like to think of the quote from the movie, Juno, "That shirt's working pretty hard, isn't it?"
